I have always been a huge lover of Sex in the City and The Carrie Diaries, watching the movies and the series religiously just to gain outfit inspiration is an utter guilty pleasure of mine. The storyline, the characters, the jobs, but more so the fashion is amazing (it made my fall in love with kitten heels).
I admit, I have been a Carrie Bradshaw wanna-be ever since I can remember and I often find myself taking to Pinterest and Instagram to see how I can incorporate a bit of Carrie's style into my everyday outfits. Of course, her most statement garment is the ever so famous tulle skirt so when I put this on this morning I knew I had to express my love and blog it! Amongst the many tulle skirts I have accumulated, this Zara find is my favourite!
Whenever I wear my tulle skirt, just as Carrie does, I like to add a bold colour to make my outfit stand out. Whether that be through shoes or tops or accessories, I tend to shop for clothes that can be considered a bit different. This doesn't apply to my style 24/7, the majority of lectures at Uni I favour cosy clothes, but if I have a day off or I have plans I like to push my style that little bit more. I aspire to work in the industry one day and it may sound crazy, but taking inspiration from Sex in the City and The Carrie Diaries makes me feel that little bit closer.
I've paired this outfit with my everyday jewellery pieces, my favourite necklace from Berkley London, my favourite ring my lovely boyfriend bought me from Pandora and my favourite bracelet, of course Pandora too! These are my go-to accessories and my favourite pieces to wear with any outfit. I have also recently started to gravitate towards pretty and bold hair bands, typically after watching an episode of The Carrie Diaries, this one is from Primark and it was only £1! I tend to wear it on my wrist because I believe it is too pretty to just throw in my bag.
Thank you so much for reading this post, I have a few other posts up my sleeve that will be coming very soon!
Love
Ella
