WYCON COSMETICS REVIEW

I am most definitely one of those people that always keeps their eyes peeled for new makeup brands whenever I am on holiday. I love discovering different products that can't be found in the UK. So, of course, on my recent trip to Italy, I was fortunate enough to stumble upon a modern, upbeat makeup shop on the medieval streets of Sienna, and surprise surprise I had to make a few purchases.
I can honestly say when I discover a new makeup shop, it is never a quick visit, because I have to restrain myself from buying everything, so I forced my boyfriend to try and act like he was interested. Every girl needs advice on what shade of pink eye shadow to buy!
WYCON cosmetics is an Italian brand and is more comparable to KIKO, one of my favourite makeup brands that you can buy all over the UK. Both WYCON and KIKO are just so unbelievably cheap that you can't help but indulge! I managed to have some self control whilst shopping at WYCON and I left the shop with a long lasting liquid lipstick and a self built eyeshadow palette containing 6 eyeshadows. Below are the reasons why I have completely and utterly fallen in love with this brand...

So, I guess we'll start with the most exciting purchase; my self built eyeshadow palette. Unlike the majority of previous palette options the ‘Build Your Own Palette’ allows you to do exactly that. You can completely custom to achieve any theme you want! And WYCON had the most beautiful shades of pink and nudes so I couldn't resist! The palette itself has a magnetic base so it is perfect for popping in and out different colours. This is why I love the idea; you aren't restricted to just a few shades because you can change it whenever you want. I always find 6 eyeshadows for any trip or occasion is the perfect amount to travel with, otherwise I end up taking every shade I own, so I purchased the smaller refill palette, to strain myself from doing this, however, they did have a slightly larger one to accommodate everyone. The eyeshadows sit in perfectly and securely together and there is no risk of them falling out anywhere! And, to top if off, this palette was only 5 euros!

Moving on to the colours themselves, I chose 6 shades that I believed could create multiple eye looks. Each shade came at an incredible price of around 3 euros each, how could anyone resist! The first shade I chose is No.2; a white silky and pearl finish. I always like to have a highlight colour in a palette because it is perfect for brightening and lifting my eyes, and to make me appear much more awake. This shade is highly pigmented even without a primer! The formula provides amazing durability and adheres to the skin with minimal fall out.
My second shade I chose is No.31; a gold silky and pearl finish. Again, I purchased this one purely for a blending highlight rather than a lid or crease colour. The texture is amazing, the colour is unbelievably soft and it gives off minimal colour so it is perfect for softening any harsh colours. I use this whenever I was a warmth undertone to my eyes.
No.14 has become my go-to crease colour for my everyday makeup. I love that this shade is buildable so If I'm in a rush I can easily blend it onto my eyes and not have to worry about fall out or a harsh finish. Mauve and dusky pinks are my favourite colours to wear on my eyes, and I just can't seem to stray away from them. I'm always trying to experiment with more adventurous shades and I've only ever got as far as coral and purple, but for every day I seem to gravitate back to this one.
No.11 is the shimmery version of No.14 and these two colours together is my favourite combination. I actually don't think I've found two better shades that compliment each other this well. It is a slighter paler dusky pink that No.11, with rose undertones and a very subtle gold shimmer. I am completely obsessed with this eyeshadow, and still cannot believe how pigmented it is!

To add some more vibrancy to my palette I purchased No.40 which is a matte cranberry with brighter burgundy undertones. This is my most used colour for definition or if I'm wanting  to create a softer smokey eye. I never use typical shades like black or grey to create a smouldering eye look, instead I prefer to use plums or browns. This shade glides smoothly and works beautifully under the eye too without looking too heavy. Again, it is a buildable shadow but only application is more than enough to see its true colour!

The last shade I purchased is No.48 which is a vivid matte pinkish purple. Don't be fooled by the website, it appears a lot brighter than it actually is. It is a slighter less vibrant version of 'Madly Magenta' by MAC. I like to run this shade along my bottom lash line for a pop of colour. Again, as it is buildable, it compliments any other shade in this palette. I like to have one shade that I struggle to find in any of my other palettes and for me, this is the one. No.48 and No.40 work amazing as eyeliners too if you have to right solution, I really recommend MAC mixing medium just to help the shadows glide smoothly.

The last product I purchased from WYCON is a long lasting liquid lipstick in the shade 01 (I wish everything had names!). I have quite a few liquid lipsticks from various brands but unfortunately nothing has yet beat my NYX Liquid Suede Creams. Although, this liquid lipstick is very close, it doesn't have a long durability and the colour only stays vivid for a few hours so I find myself having to touch it up quite a lot if I have a busy day. I must admit, the texture is amazing and it doesn't make my lips appear dry like the vase majority, but for only 5 euro's it was a must buy!
.
So, I hope you enjoyed reading this lengthy review, I always get carried away on the topic of makeup! Overall, WYCON cosmetics are worth every penny and are almost the exact same as KIKO products with regards to formula and price. If we ever visit Sienna again, I will be sure to pick up a few more products to try!
Love
Ella
