CONCEALERS YOU NEED: DARK CIRCLES, BLEMISHES & MORE

Concealers are such an important product in my everyday makeup routine, and they're something I really enjoy buying and never skip out on. I'm very fortunate that I don't suffer with acne, so unfortunately I don't have any concealers on my list specially for that. But, if you have dark circles, redness or any blemishes, any of the below concealers are perfect for you.

If you’re looking for the best way to get rid of dark circles under your eyes, without splashing the cash, or need something that can camouflage blemishes and redness, you need the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer. This has been my favourite drugstore concealer for as long as I can remember. It's thick, pigmented and does a really good job of covering all the problematic areas (in fact the cover image is my makeup first thing in the morning wearing this concealer. I don't look that tired, right?), plus there's a lot in the tube for £4!

I used to use the shade 01 - Fair, which is the perfect colour match, but recently Collection brought out 0 - Extra Fair and I've not looked back! Extra fair is not only perfect for covering the dark circles, but for highlighting. I don't use this shade for blemishes, redness, etc, because it is a little too pale for those areas, but it is the best for  brightening and concealing under the eyes.

And (it doesn't stop there), they've recently brought out colour correcting concealers. My favourite is the green because my skin gets pretty red. And it does the job. I think it is hands down my favourite drugstore green concealer.

Whenever I feel as if I need heavy duty coverage, this is what I reach for. Waterproof, sweat and humidity-resistant, this long-wearing formula boasts a creamy-smooth texture for a perfectly smooth coverage that's easy to blend and doesn't crease.

Again, I mainly use concealer to cover my dark circles, and this concealer is definitely a wake up call for my tired eyes. It brightens and covers discolouration under the eye utilising a pink - or peach-based formula to neutralise that undereye darkness.

What's even better is that it's available in 16 different shades so everyone gets a match!

One of my favourite foundations that I adore at the moment is the Tarte Shape Tape, so it seemed only right to invest in the Shape Tape concealer. And I can honestly say it is money well spent.

This product is unbelievably creamy, blendable and pigmented, and provides a natural, matte coverage. I find it very long-wearing and hydrating for being a full-coverage concealer. In fact you don't even need to powder, although I do apply a slight bit of HD powder under my eyes, it just stays in place all day!

Just as the Collection Lasting Perfection, the Tarte Shape Tape is perfect for highlighting and concealing. Coming in an incredible 14 shades, it is almost impossible to not buy a few in different shades! I love the consistency of this product and find it is very picture perfect.

I wouldn't recommend this concealer if you have severely dry skin. It's matte finish will unfortunately cling to your dry patches. Instead, go for the Bobbi Brown Creamy Corrector.

Last, but certainly not least, is the Revolution Conceal and Define. As much as I've just talked about how much I love love love the Tarte concealer, it does come at price. So if you are looking for a dupe of this concealer, nothing compares to it like this one does.

The Conceal and Define concealer has a matte finish and full coverage. It's available in 18 shades (which is amazing) and has a good range of different undertones. Honestly you would truly be hard pressed to not find your perfect shade and for a drugstore brand, that's pretty ground breaking.

When I bought this concealer in the spring months, virtually all the shades were sold out so I didn't, at first, get the colour I wanted. I'm naturally fair with pink undertones and I always find it really  hard to find shade matches unless I've fake tanned. However, when Superdrug restocked the product I was able to get my hands on a few different shades. And I can honestly say they are all a perfect colour match for different times of the year. May I add it is only £4!

However, unlike the Tarte Shape Tape, this concealer does dry fast so you need to blend it quite quickly. And, set it with a powder to avoid it settling into the finer lines on your face.

Finally to apply my concealer I love using Real Technique Sponges. My favourite is the large sponge as I find it blends everything a little more naturally. However, if I'm looking to build my concealer or add a little more definition, I love using the Real Techniques Mini Sponges. I rarely ever use a concealer brush just because I feel they don't blend as smoothly.

Thank you so much for reading!
Love,
Ella
